New Video: Ghostpoet – ‘Meltdown’

Ghostpoet

It’s been two years since the release of Ghostpoet‘s Mercury nominated debut, Peanut Butter Blues and Melancholy Jam (a title that still makes me smile every time I hear it!) – and now it’s time to feast your ears and eyes upon the lead single and accompanying video for ‘Meltdown’ from follow-up Some Say I So I Say Light, which is set for release on May 3rd.

A heart-on-sleeve take on the demise of a relationship in which both parties simply drifted apart, the juxtaposition between Ghostpoet’s flow and the delicate vocal of Woodpecker Wooliams works incredibly well, especially teamed with the split-screen style of the video.

He was my personal highlight from last year’s Camden Crawl Dublin when he played a stormer in Whelans early on the Saturday evening, but sadly Ghostpoet has no Irish live dates for 2013 announced as part of his tour in support of the album just yet – but fingers crossed for a festival appearance!
